The best way to get noticed is to have something noticeable! As a rep on Abound I look at ALL the offerings in my categories. I know my fellow reps do as well because we speak about them.
In taking a look at your product and your website I noticed that -
1) Your website is home-grown. Probably means you don't have the resources to really deal with retail chains. Also it's a .biz domain name and this is a big negative.
2) There doesn't seem to be anything unique about your product. You don't seem to have a value proposition that is different than what the hundreds of other soap sellers are doing on Etsy for example.
3) Your Instagram (which should be the #1 driver of your business) only has 138 followers and the posts are very unprofessional compared to others in your industry.
And this was just 5 minutes of viewing.
If you want to get a rep's attention on ANY plan on Abound then you must be at least on par with your competitors. As a rep there needs to be some indication that doing business with you is going to make me some money. There isn't. Every indication is you aren't prepared to sell to chains.
If you have something truly unique for the market then that message should have hit me in the face as soon as I was on your website or Instagram. The statements on the front of your site are generic and could be for anyone making the same items.
If you want to win in today's marketplace you must have a distinct angle and you don't. Before contacting a rep you need to first make sure you have something unique for the market.
All the best,
John T Clark
