Sweetsmith Candy Co. was founded in 2012 by 19 year old Dannah Davies who was armed with a passion for sweets, and bringing smiles to people's lives through the language of candy. Her story in candy making started a while before that though. She started candy making as a toddler with her family, helping make Christmas candies, and she started making her own candy occasionally at age 11. At age 16, her family fell on hard times and they were unable to pay rent due to the recession. Luckily they were able to get "food stamps", and Dannah and her mom used some of the money left after groceries to make candy to sell so that they could pay the rent!Sweetsmith Candy Co. is still a 100% Woman-owned small business dedicated to handcrafting sweets using traditional candy making techniques. Everything you see in our shop was made by hand, and packaged by hand. We offer Gluten free, Soy free, Dairy Free, Vegan, AND delicious Sugar Free (keto) options.
